Breathless Surrender- Tory Richards

October 14, 2010

Erotica

Summary-

Months of running into her sexy new neighbor have taken a toll on Alexis’ libido. There’s interest in his smoky gaze every time they meet, but he seems reluctant to ask her out. They never share more than a slight nod and a polite hello. She’s about to take matters into her own hands when she finds herself thrown into a situation that could end her life.

With nothing but erotic fantasies of Alexis to warm his bed at night, Reid knows he has to stay away from her until his undercover assignment is over. But when a cold-blooded initiation to prove he’s trustworthy forces him to involve her, nothing can keep him from claiming her. (Jacket Liner)

Review-

There was a lot that I really loved about this story and there was just about as much that bugged me about it too! Rape and rape-like scenes are not my scene. That needs to be mentioned up front. The assurance that Alexis knew it was Reid is the only thing that kept me reading. I enjoyed the conflict and lust both characters described during their difficult scenes. The two characters were very quickly involved both physically and emotionally. While this level of commitment may not be overly realistic, the story was entertaining and interesting. The end comes quickly since this is a “Quickies” book from Ellora’s Cave. I really liked the character descriptions and I would enjoy reading a longer book by this author. Enjoy!

I'm glad you enjoyed the story. And I agree with your comment about highlighting that particular scene, that's why there's a warning in the beginning of the book. The last thing I want to do is offend anyone. Take care:)

Hi Tory,
I really did enjoy the story, but I do feel I need to highlight scenes like that for some readers that may find it disturbing. I will check out some of your longer length books. One thing I love most is more of a good thing. Have a great day, Karia

Hi Karia, I just wanted to thank you for reviewing my second Quickie with Ellora's Cave, and for giving it 4 hoots. I appreciate your candid thoughts and totally understand your unease with the forced seduction scene that takes place at the beginning of the story. I do have several full length books out and you can check them out on my website if you're intereste.

Tootles!
