Review-
This book is great for people who love to read M/M Romance but don't quit understand the Dominate/submissive relationship or the BDSM scene. Harte is a gay police Detective who is good at what he does but is in the closet at work. When he goes to a strip club to investigate a murder, he sees Ramey who is a dancer at the club. Harte's attraction to Ramey is instant and hard. He is having trouble keeping his attraction under control. His investigation leads him right to Ramey who he then has to question. Ramey’s mannerisms bring something out in Harte and when he is left in a room with him. He leaves with more questions about himself personally than he never knew he had. Harte is then forced to examine himself and learn what his wants and needs mean and what it is that he sees in Ramey that fills the missing piece within himself.
Ramey knows what he is and what he needs. He has known it all his life and has accepted it. When he meets Harte he knows that this man is what he needs but he is not sure that he can have him. Ramey's character is very interesting and I enjoyed learning all about him. When you first meet him you as the reader form an opinion about him and get to learn that there is so much more. While Ramey's sexual needs may seem to make him weak, he is anything but. It is wonderful to watch the interaction between these two characters. Harte, while learning to deal with his desires and what they mean while dealing with the responsibilities that they carry. And Ramey as he helps him along the way and opens his eyes and his heart to a world that he did not understand and never thought was possible.
I as the reader enjoyed this book because I felt that I was learning right along with the characters. While disbanding misconceived notions and explaining things in a way that was interesting and enjoyable, I was pulled into a world I knew little about and left with a sense of knowledge and understanding. While this is the first book of this series that I have read I look forward to going back and seeing what I have missed.
